Queer Conception Group
Making the decision to start a family as queer people often comes with a lot of intention, consideration, and a heck of a lot of questions. While I don’t have all the answers, I do have a space for us to gather and share in the journey of family building. We know queer community is so important, but it can be hard to not feel isolated when going through this process. The queer conception group is a place where we can share our experiences, offer resources, ask questions, talk and listen, and feel a little less alone in it all.
This group is run by me, Emma, and is in collaboration with Lezhang Seacoast (our local queer hang community). I am a birth doula, postpartum doula, abortion doula, and childbirth educator. So my strengths are in facilitating, listening, creating space, and brainstorming ways to advocate for yourself. Oh, and sharing resources of course!

This group is not a place to get or receive medical advice, nor is it a place for judgement or criticism. Everyone’s experiences are different and challenging in their own ways, and we will respect that.
So who is this group for anyway? (And is your unique experience included?)
Queer people thinking about family building, via conception or adoption
People in the earlier stages of figuring out sperm, legalities, insurance, and providers
People who are meeting with providers and in the midst of IUI or IVF
People who are using at home methods for conception
Queer people who are getting pregnant with their own genetic material and people who are getting donated material (eggs or sperm)
All queer people regardless of orientation, sex assigned at birth, or gender.
So far this group has focused on people with uteruses getting pregnant with donated sperm, but I would love for you to join and broaden the experiences represented.
Come Join Us!
We meet monthly in Dover Nh, and dates are continuously added to the calendar, here are the upcoming gatherings.
December 10th from 6-7:30pm Topic: A conversation with Lawyers Polly Corzier and Chrissy Hanisco about legal considerations for queer families heading into 2025.
In the meantime check out our Resource Document that includes the list of books I bring to the group to lend out (plus so much good stuff).
